No trend. No post. No high is worth your life.
Choosing Substance in a World of Performance
In a world increasingly shaped by algorithms, optics, and instant validation, Men and Women of Vision (MWoV) takes a different stance.
We believe that real life matters more than online applause. That character is built in private long before it is visible in public. That service, leadership, and integrity are not measured in clicks.
Life Over Likes is not a campaign. It is a posture.
At MWoV, we prioritize:
Real people over performative presence
Community trust over personal branding
Long-term impact over short-term attention
Accountability over aesthetics
This means that we embrace technology or storytelling, but refuse to let them lead us, or our communities, into certain destruction.
Life Over Likes re-centers the conversation by modeling another way – a way where:
Service is done whether cameras are rolling or not;
Leadership is steady, consistent, and accountable; and,
Growth happens offline as much as online
This MATTERS because young people are growing up in a culture that often confuses:
Popularity with Purpose
Exposure with Achievement
Reaction with Relevance
How This Shows Up at MWoV

Life Over Likes informs how we operate across the organization:
- Programs & Direct Services
We invest in work that meets real needs, even when it is un-glamorous or slow-moving, such as the Life Over Likes Age-appropriate fentanyl and substance misuse education curriculum for middle and high school students. Learn more about this FREE community resource by clicking the link below to book a Q&A session.
- Volunteer Engagement
We value reliability and follow-through more than visibility. - Youth & Emerging Leaders
We emphasize decision-making, responsibility, & community impact — not clout. - Communications
We use media as a tool, not a mirror. Stories are shared with consent, care, and context.
Life Over Likes is an invitation to:
Show up fully, build something that lasts, and choose integrity even when no one is watching. We believe the strongest work speaks for itself — eventually. Until then, we just keep doing the work.
Interested in Partnering?
MWoV partners with schools, youth programs, and community organizations to deliver age-appropriate Life Over Likes sessions, including evidence-informed prevention education when applicable. These 30- or 60-minutes sessions are designed to equip students with the skills they need to avoid the risky behaviors associated with the increased instances of fentanyl use in our communities, as well as what to do if they witness a fentanyl overdose in real-time.
If your school or organization is interested in exploring a Life Over Likes session for middle or high school students, we invite you to reach out to discuss fit, timing, and requirements
(Requests are reviewed to ensure alignment, capacity, and compliance.)
